Dr. Mason was brilliant. He was eccentric but brilliant. Unfortunately, his brilliance didn't follow any pattern so he wasn't able to hold down any
traditional jobs. Instead he was set up in a place where he could just experiment and invent completely to his hearts desire while attendants were
hired to take his brilliant ideas and develop them into something useful. I was one of these attendants. It was an entertaining job.
It was especially entertaining when I discovered some notes he had scrawled out about what Dr. Mason had called a toy. I recognized it for what it
was. Dr. Mason rarely spoke to people or promoted his own ideas. He was content to sit in his lab by himself with gadgets and equipment. If any
of his stuff was to be developed, it was up to attendants like me. So I was so excited at my find. I quickly grabbed everything I could about it to
keep the other attendants from discovering it. I would have to monitor Dr. Mason more closely to make sure none of the other attendants
discovered anything but that should be easy. One thing about Dr. Mason, he didn't talk much and he didn't return to old ideas often. There was
little chance of anyone else finding out. Dr. Mason just had flashes of inspiration where entire inventions would pop into his head completely
designed and ready to be built and then Dr. Mason would completely forget all about what he invented, no matter how brilliant the invention. So
as far as I knew, I was the only one with the designs for his latest toy.
What he had invented was . . .
