John decieded to take a closer look at the box he had seen on the pool deck next to a pile of clothes. A closer inspection revealed the clothes were definitely Mary's. He opened the box and found it full of labeled vials. He noticed various animal names. He looked up from the box at the dolphin who seemed to be watching him intently. Could the dolphin be Mary?
He found the dolphin vial and pulled it out of the box. He looked at the dolphin again; the dolphin shook its head up and down. John wondered how he would change back. But Mary surely knew more about the vials than he did. Maybe the effect was temporary? (He had no idea Mary had poured the human vial into the pool's cleaning system.)
He drank the whole dolphin vial in one long gulp then replaced it in the box. He stood up and the dolphin continued to shake its head up and down, now even more excitedly. John stood up, but nearly fell over. He clutched his sides as he felt changes begin. He hurriedly removed his clothes. As he did, he could seen patches of gray begin to appear all over his body. His legs also stuck together as they began to form a tail. John shuffled to the edge of the pool and awkwardly dove in. Once in the water, the changes began to accelerate, turning him into a full dolphin.
He heard a series of high pitched squeaks and squeals, which his transforming brain translated after a moment from dolphin-speak: "Took you long enough!"
