"I said that I'm a lesbian," I repeated.
She seemed to get mad. The tears stopped falling from her eyes. "Joe, you're being really insensitive right now. I'm this close to throwing you out of here."
Before she could say anything else, I gave her my reasoning. "Kristy, wait a second. Let me explain." She stopped trying to interrupt me. "When I saw you naked in the street, it made me realize something I thought I had put behind me. It made me realize that I wanted to be a woman."
She looked at me like I was insane. "You want to be a woman?" she asked, laughing at the end of her question.
"Yes," I said. "And now I can be."
"What, your precious little ring can do that?" she asked, still not believing me.
"It surely can," I said. "But let me finish. Seeing you naked made me remember how much I wanted to be a woman. Kissing you finally made me realize that I still wanted sex with a woman." Something happened to her face. It seemed as if she was enticed by what I had said. "Because of you, I was finally able to figure out who I am."
I let everything sink into her mind. I had said what I needed to. After staring at me for a good two or three minutes, she said, "But that's not who you are, Joe. Like it or not, you're a guy."
"You don't really believe what I said about the ring, do you?" I asked.
"I..." her voice trailed off again. "I don't know. I mean...I have no idea how I was suddenly naked. But I don't know that you did that."
"Fine then," I said. "There's only one way to prove it to you." She started to ask what I meant but I cut her off. "Just watch the show," I said as I stood up. "I wish I would transform into the woman I transformed into earlier today."
