You walked into the store. It was a comic book store that you'd never been in before, which was rare, and looked like it had just been opened. Everything looked brand new and clean. You slowly peruse the shelves, checking out the various new issues of comics before heading over to the bins to check out the back issues they had in stock. The young man behind the counter seemed to ignore you, reading an old, leather bound book instead. That was just as well, you thought. No need in making things awkward. You were capable of finding things on your own, and having him watch you the entire time would have just made things weird.
Little did you know, but the young man behind the counter was not the young twenty-something he appeared to be, but actually several hundreds of years old. The reason he never aged was due to his being an extremely powerful wizard, enchanting himself to remain youthful for as long as he wished. This particular wizard belonged to a secret society of good witches and wizards who devoted their life to the battling of evil. Now, since Witches and Wizards typically don't make themselves known to the world, one could argue that it was a secret society within a secret society, but that is neither here nor there. This particular wizard, by the name of Marcus, had come up with a novel idea. He was finding the world was being swallowed up by fear, cynicism and darkness. He felt the world needing signs of hope, that the world needed real life superheroes. Not just lunatics dressed in costumes, but actual superpowered superheroes.
To put the plan into action, he opened his little comic book shop and spread among the collection special issues imbued with a magical charm that would transform the readers into the superhero of the comic they were reading, and their dreams. To make sure that each comic wound up in the correct person's hands though, he made it part of the charm that the comic would only appear to the person it was meant for, who would have the heart and strength to use the power given to him responsibly. And, as it turns out, you are one of those people. The question though is, which comic do you choose?
