I hurried to meet the old lady before she got to reception, i realized i didn't even know her name. She might already be here.
When i got there i was relieved to see no one waiting, i decided to intercept her before she got there.
I didn't want to have to explain to everyone who she was, i guess i could say she my grandmother but i didn't feel like lying.
I headed to the elevator but it opened before i got there
Out stepped a tall, thin, raven haired beauty. She was dressed in a tight Grey yoga pants with a matching hoodie.
She looked around and smiled when she spotted me.
She walked right up to me. 'Hey Handsome, you ready?' she asked me.
I had no idea who she was. I could only stare in to her Ice Blue eyes.
She was beautiful, she had a flawless face, and not one strand of her black, shoulder length hair was out of place.
'Ready for...?' I said, clueless.
She smiled again 'For lunch silly. Remember? I'm buying. Did you forget already? How many girls lives did you save this morning?'
Beth had overheard our conversation and poked her head up from the reception desk.
I quickly grabbed the girl's hand and ushered her off to my office, closing the door behind me.
She was the only one that MIGHT know what was happening.
'What do you remember from this morning? i asked her.
She smiled. 'well, i remember you saving me.' she said as she looked around 'do you have a mirror in here?' She asked Changing the subject.
I looked around and noticed a large mirror i could have sworn was there before. 'umm over there,' i said as i pointed at it. 'Anything else?' I asked.
'I remember you, giving me this card.' She said as she held up my business card.
'I also remember we never introduced ourselves. i wouldn't know your name if it wasn't on the card. my name is Elle by the way.'
I paused for a second as i realized she was right. 'my name is Darren.' I told her.
'I know its on the card.' She laughed
'Is there anything else you remember?' I asked again.
She moved in close, her face only inches from mine, her height matched mine so she was looking right into my eyes.
'Do you mean like being short and really old?' She said with no expression on her face.
I was shocked, 'You remember?!' I asked her as she still started into my eyes. 'how come no one else does?'
She finally broke eye contact and grabbed my hand with the ring.
'this ring is very special.' she said as she held it up. 'if the right person wears it, it will bring out your heart's desires.'
'so i'm doing all this?' I asked her. 'but how come you know everything and everyone else is oblivious?'
She smiled 'yes, you're doing all this. and i can see it because i wore the ring before.'
'but why did you give it to me?'
i gave it to you because it stopped working for me. and i knew after you saved me this morning the ring would choose you.'
'it chose me?' I asked her

'Well Sort of, the ring won't work for just anybody. It worked for me, for a while then i got greedy. The ring has a mind of its own, it will play tricks on you if you're abusing it. Or in my case stop working.'
I wanted to know more about the ring. 'How does it work?.' I asked her.
