After dinner, all six of the housemates lounged around the house. Nate, Aaron and Jamie were in the living room, reading. Henry and Sara were cleaning up in the kitchen. There was little noise in the house aside from the crackling fire
Nate let out a soft sigh and walked over to the fireplace. Picking up the poker off the hearth and adjusted the fire. He picked up the last log from the wood holder and tossed it on the fire. He then picked up the wood carrier that was laying next to the hearth and made his way to the front door.
"Hey, where are you going?" asked Aaron.
"I'm gonna go get some more wood for the fire. Want to come?" replied Nate.
"No thanks. The werewolves are out there. I don't want to get eliminated the first night," said Aaron.
"Oh please, there's no one out there. And even if there is, I think I can handle an actor in a fur suit," scoffed Nate.
"Seriously, Nate, be careful," replied Jamie, giving him a smile.
Nate smiled back. "I'll be fine, I swear I'll be right back."
Nate walked out the front door, glad to breathe in some fresh air. Things were so painfully boring inside that house. Besides, part of him wanted the werewolves to show up. He wanted to see these things in action.
He walked down to the woodpile about forty feet from the house. He placed the bag on top of the stack and started filling it up when he heard a low growling sound behind him. Nate slowly turned around to see a large, hulking black furred werewolf standing behind him, his breath showing in the cold night air. Standing nearly 6, feet, 6 inches tall, with a large snout with fangs to match and dazzling amber eyes, he was a sight to behold.
"Oh wow..." whispered Nate. The werewolf grabbed him and lifted him up with his two clawed hands. Nate felt his heart leap as his feet left the ground. As he felt the wolf's hot breath hit him in the face, he knew this was real. This was a real werewolf and this was really happening. He only then became aware again of the cameramen, two of them taping his encounter with the werewolf.
"Oh god, you guys help me, please!" he cried out. "Guys, inside, help me!"
He could see them inside, walking around, oblivious. He was too far away. They couldn't hear him.
The wolf threw Nate over the woodpile and he landed on the soft grass on the other side with a dull thud. Nate laid on the dew covered grass and turned back to the woodpile. The wolf jumped on top of the woodpile, eying Nate.
"Oh god, he's going to kill me," whispered Nate.
"He doesn't want to kill you Nate," came a voice from the darkness behind him. A voice he recognized. Nate turned again to watch Jennifer Carver into the light.
"He doesn't?" asked Nate, looking back to the wolf. The wolf jumped off the woodpile and slowly advanced on Nate and Jennifer.
"He wants to make you like him," replied Jennifer. "Don't you want to be like him? Feel that raw, bestial power? Don't you want the bite?"
Nate turned back to Jennifer. He looked over the hulking, bi-pedal werewolf, and could only answer with an affirmative, "Yes."
"Now then, hold out your arm for him here," she said, pulling up his arm and holding it out for James the werewolf. Nate held his arm out, waiting for the werewolf to take his bite, thinking this was incredibly stupid. The wolf quickly took his bite, clamping down on his arm, his teeth puncturing his skin. Nate let out a moan of pain, falling to his knees. The wolf quickly let go, the werewolf spirit already starting to work its way through his body. The wolf then started to lick Nate's wound. He watched in awe as the wound on his arm slowly healed itself.
"Now then, that wasn't so bad, was it?" said Jennifer.
"So, what happens now?" asked Nate.
"Well, my young darling, tomorrow night, you'll transform into a werewolf for the very first time," said Jennifer.
"You mean I don't have to wait for the full moon?"
"Honey, after you transform for the first time, you'll be able to change whenever you want," said Jennifer with a smile.
"This is going to be so cool," said Nate, smiling from ear to ear.
"Now, back to the house with you. And not a word to your housemates. None of them can know you got turned until later!" replied Jennifer.
One of the other producers handed Nate a bag of wood and directed him back to the house. Nate was so giddy, he wasn't sure he'd sleep at all that night.
