"Everyone knows we're in Shibihatsu," she said, not answering his question..at least not really. Was
shibihatsu a real place, or something made up? He couldn't remember.
"Shibi..hatsu?" Conor asked. The girl with the pink hair and large green eyes stared at him as though he was
an idiot.
"You really did bang your head, didn't you?" she asked, sounding rather unimpressed.
"I'm new," Conor told her. He figured he must at least have made it to the right area. In addition to her
unusual hair and large eyes, she was dressed in a green and white school uniform. However, she was lanky and
flatchested, rather than overdeveloped.
She quickly invaded his personal space, inspecting him closely with a puzzled look on her face. "I'm Rei!" she
suddenly said with an explosion of cheeriness, her mouth a wide grin. "We almost NEVER get new people here!"
She grabbed his hand in an enthusiastic handshake, pumping it up and down several times.
"Oh, you're the friend character," Conor said as it dawned on him. "You're the one that I'll end up
overlooking, even though you're so helpful and clearly have a crush on me!"
She stopped shaking his hand immediately, her eyes narrowing to little more than slits, and a tiny raincloud
appeared over her head. "What?"
"Umm..nothing..nothing.." he said, trying to cover his outburst, despite being sure he was correct. "I'm
Conor."
"Okay then!" she said, immediately the picture of cheeriness once more. "Let's get to town! My grandfather
runs the inn!" She grabbed Conor's hand, and began to run at full speed toward the the buildings in the near
distance, about 100 yards away.
