A person with a fully developed consciousness, like a sorceror supreme, does not "pass out" in the way an ordinary human does. Tony's body shut down, but his spirit floated free.
Tony instantly recognized the aura of magic. So, despite his boasting, Science Master either employed magic or had an ally who did. The dark miasma of evil suggested a malevolent supernatural being, although said being didn't seem to be on the premises.
The yapping dog gave off the aura of one who had been transformed. Very well, Tony thought, if whoever is in charge of this madhouse wants that dog transformed, I want it untransformed. Dispelling transformations, particularly recent ones, was one of the simpler acts of magic, and one Tony didn't need to be in his body to do.
The vicious dog transformed into a frumpy, middle-aged woman in a housecoat. She looked around, puzzled by her surroundings. Her gaze fixed on Science Master. "What's going on here, Barney?" she said "You are in big trouble, young man!"
"M-mom?" answered Science Master, and for the first time since his transformation into a science villain, Barney felt the icy touch of fear on the back of his neck.

Fighting was something Wonder Gal knew how to do, and she cast Michael away with little effort. Get away, she thought, have to get away from stimuli, get away from anything male or anything pregnant. Otherwise, she knew, whatever was making her so desperately want to get pregnant would win, eventually.
Convent, she thought. She had been to a local nunnery on a case a year ago involving a deceased abbess haunting the place. Dr. Mage had done most of the work on that one, but she remembered where it was. Now how to get there?
