Jeff happened to spot the link to "Family Tree Packages". Being something of genealogy buff it piqued his interest, and he selected it.
The package page had a picture of a tree, predictably. The tree's leaves formed the words "GenealogyX -- Chronivac Edition". Jeff was a
fan of the regular edition of GenealogyX, which let you construct family trees and had a website for research, but he hadn't been aware
that they had a version for the Chronivac. Now even more intrigued, he scrolled down past the trunk of the tree to the roots, which formed
four boxes with links and short descriptions.
The first one said, "EDIT ANCESTRY! Change the DNA or the circumstances of ancestors distant or close, and watch yourself change
along with them." The second one was, "EDIT RELATIONSHIPS! Change brothers into sisters and fathers into sons, or do anything else
to switch around your family's relationships, with our SwitcherooX program." The third read, "NEW FAMILY! Join a new family by
transplanting yourself into an existing one or creating a new one from scratch with our TreeBuilder." Finally, the fourth box said,
"EXPERIENCE HERITAGE! New in 4.0, assume the life of any direct-male or direct-female ancestor of a given generation. In association
with Clockworks Time Travel." Below the boxes, the roots spelled out in much larger letters, "With GenealogyX, the choice is yours."
Jeff frowned at the blatant self-promotion, thinking that the developers of GenealogyX must have paid TransDem Labs a lot of money for
the privilege. But still, the whole thing seemed very cool. He skimmed through the disclaimer, which said a lot about adjusting any
inconsistencies to fit with changes, and made his choice about which option to take.
