Kyle, Kevin, Owen, Josh, Drake, and Jake were now all sitting down in Owen's living room. It had just turned 8:30pm and the group was just about to start their meeting. Well, everyone except for Drake and Jake. The two of them were fast asleep on the leather recliner, exhausted from all the running around they did. Separate, the two had an enormous amount of energy, and together their stamina was far more than double. But like everything, they crashed. Now they were laying back with their heads leaning against the others. Kevin had placed a blanket over them, covering everything except their heads. The two could have passed for a pair of young fraternal twins who fell asleep after a long day. Except if you were to pull back the blanket, you would be shocked to see only one body for the two of them with the joined necklaces hanging down on their chest.
Owen cleared his throat before he started the conversation. "Okay everyone, now is the perfect time to discuss what we do with the necklaces."
"Who needs a pair of useless magic eagles that forces to people together; lets just toss them into the street so someone else can be cursed with them." Jason quickly declared.
"What? Now way!" Kevin exclaimed. Both him and Kyle had jumped up simultaneously from the couch they were sitting in. While Jake and Drake were running around joined, Kyle and Kevin spent the day hanging out. In the time they spent joined and apart, they had actually developed a pretty close friendship. There was an unspoken agreement that both would like to spend more time stuck together.
Owen noticed this bond between them as well. He also noticed how the two seemed to mirror each other's movements. When one crossed his legs, the other crossed his legs. When Kyle yawned and stretched his left arm, Kevin yawned and stretched his right arm. And just now, when Kevin stood up, Kyle also stood up. Owen slowly messaged his temple. "I agree with Kevin and Kyle. We can't just throw the necklaces away and force someone else to deal with them. Besides, what would happen if no one found them. Or what if one they were added to someone's antique collection. No, we have to hold onto them."
"But, there is lies the problem with keeping them." Owen continued. "What do we do with them? None of us can remained joined during the weekdays, at least not during the day. You all have school, and I have work."
"Well what about we schedule around that stuff." Kyle suggested. "It shouldn't be that hard to find a way around our different schedules. We only need to people to remain merged at any given time, and there are six of us."
From there, the conversation went into figuring out a plan around everyone's schedules, much to Jason's annoyance. He wanted nothing else then to throw those good-for-nothing necklaces away. He wasn't even going to join in on this little meeting, but Owen threatened spending another night joined if he didn't participate. But he figured he could use this conversation to his advantage by helping to create a schedule where he wouldn't have to be joined to anyone.
The group, however, quickly discovered just how difficult the task may be. Owen was basically useless during the week, he left to work to early and returned home too late. Kevin was pretty much open after 2:00pm since he finished school early, but he had early morning swim practice at 5:30am. Drake and Jake's school was only a block away, but problems arose about how to get the necklaces from one school to the other. Plus, the idea of letting the two of them hold onto them for a couple hours during school worried them. Finally though, a rough, but workable plan was created. Though to both Kyle's and Josh's dismay, they had to be merged for an hour and a half in the morning every Tuesday and Thursday.
"Oh boy is it late." Owen commented while looking at his watch. It was already after 10:00. "I think I am going to call it a night." With that he quietly slipped upstairs. Josh followed, not too long after Owen had left, grumbling all the while. This left Kevin and Kyle alone with the joined Drake and Jake sleeping in the recliner beside them.
