At 6:00AM, the alarm rang and Jen woke up. Jen was still a chicken woman. Her new father came in.
"Alright Jen, it's matin' day." he said.
"Mating day?" Jen asked scared.
"Don't act dumb, you know it's Saturday. Saturday's always been matin' day for ya. Now come on already, go git
breakfast and we can get this over with. Yur eggs'r worth a fortune."
"What? My Eggs?" Jen asked, really scared now.
"Aw wake up already, Jen. Come on, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner we ken get the eggs'n sell em.
You'r never this sleepy on Matin' day, anythin' wron'?" her father's lack of Gs in his sentences was really
annoying her. But moreover, this mating day was really scaring her. Who was she going to mate with? Would it
be a man or a chicken? Why were her eggs so expensive, and why would her family sell their daughter's
children? These new thoughts were really tearing Jen from the inside. She had no choice she felt, this was
farm life, and maybe farm life is what she was going to have to get used to for the rest of her life.
"Who's doing this to me? Is this punishment for something?" Jen thought to herself. She held her wing out, her
father grabbed her hand talon, and gently pulled her off the roost.
"Careful kiddo, you still look a little sleepy, wouldn't want you to fall over." her dad said. Jen planted her
feet to the ground.
"There ya go, c'mon let's go eat breakfast, and then we ken git to work." he said. They walked to the kitchen,
where everything seemed exactly the same. Jen's chair was gone though, and replaced, once again, with a pipe
to stand on. This one was a sort of upside-down U shape sticking from the floor where her chair once stood.
She got on the pipe, and saw her plate. Her breakfast was a bowl of small slices of bananas, bird seed, and
cheerios. There were no utensils for her to eat with, and the fact she wasn't eating was making her dad look
worried.
"What's wron' kiddo? It's yur favrite. You awake yet?" he asked.
"Yeah... there's nothing wrong, dad. Just a little sleepy is all." she said. She began pecking at her bowl,
eating her breakfast. She had to admit, this surprisingly tasted amazing. Suddenly she kept pecking faster,
and less forced at the breakfast.
"That's my girl, a heavy weight, jus' like her ol' man." he laughed, patting his stomach proudly.
"Why does this taste so good? It's amazing! When I was human, my mom never made anything like this!" she
thought. When she finally finished, she was half disappointed that there was nothing left.
"There we go, alright, let's go." she followed him to a sort of small house type structure next to the chicken
coop, which was odd, since she couldn't remember it being there before.
"So... who am I mating with?" she asked, nervous and scared at what was to come.
