You can't wait to find your way back to your hunting buddies to tell them what you discovered but since you don't know which way to your
camp you decide to watch the fairies for a while. They are beautiful. They do not look silly like the giggly girls that annoy you. Instead, these
fairies look noble like elegant ladies.
You, on the other hand, are a bit of a ruffian and you know it. You couldn't possibly be refined enough to sit at a table with the likes of these
ladies. So you keep your mouth shut just admiring the beauty.
Unfortunately, the fairies are more alert than you thought they were. They notice you and immediately fly up to confront you.
One fairy shouts, "A human. How dare you intrude upon us. How'd you get past the protection spell anyway."
You apologize, "I'm sorry, I was lost and I saw a light."
Another fairy says, "Oh, he was lost. This means he's probably one of the lost ones."
The first fairy says, "Sir, if what Anastasia says is true, then magic guided you here. Every once in a while, magic will guide a lost one to find us.
It is very rare and it is very troubling. When a lost one comes to us, it can be a cause of celebration or it can be a cause of danger. We must find
out why the magic brought you to us. I am the Grand Duchess Arabeth. Until we can determine what must be done, I hereby take charge over
you."
With that, she cast some magic and you feel tingly. You begin to shrink inside your clothes. You feel almost like your drowning in your own
clothes but then it quickly stops. Abruptly, your clothes disappear and you find yourself standing about the same height as a fairy but you are
naked.
Arabeth says, "I caution you not to run off. It is very dangerous for you to be by yourself at the size you currently are but as long as you stay
nearby, I will protect you."
You ask, "What about clothes?"
Arabeth says, "We will determine that later after we've figured out why you are here. For now, consider yourself a slave because unless we
determine otherwise, it is our policy to enslave any human that comes into our midst."
Arabeth and the others wander off to discuss you. You do have a perfect opportunity to escape but at your size, you're not sure it is a good
idea. You think about how to get back to your buddies and whether they'd be able to help you in your shrunken state. You also think that your
buddies might be looking for you and you wish you could warn them so they don't wind up shrunk like you.
