Baxter and the other young man were standing there for a moment when something moved in the distance. A startled Baxter moved closer to the other young man, since he was larger and stronger. Baxter realized he thought better this guy than me if something happens. Baxter also realized he may have made a mistake.
Despite being in what they thought was the facility and being told they would be alright, Baxter was again beginning to have second and third thoughts about his decision to do this. He was about to say something when the other young man spoke.
"You smell that?" he said more as a confirmation than a question. He then looked down at Baxter who was obviously in one's personal space. "I'm Tom, by the way."
"Baxter." Baxter then put some distance between himself - or rather herself - and Tom, this other cat-person. Baxter then took a deep breath. Two things became immediately clear. First, Baxter could smell things he normally didn't. Second, there were several distinct smells that caught and held his attention. Tom had a strong and clean smell, Baxter himself smelled frightened, and some other smell not unlike their own came from the distance in the forest.
Seeing Baxter do this, the Tom took a deep breath as well. His eyes seemed to glaze over, and he turned to Baxter. "Baxter? What kind of a name is that? How about Bax? or Ax? or Axter? or Axer? or Azure? Yeah, Azure fits you better..."
Tom was just staring at Baxter. It made him uncomfortable. "No, I like Bax-x-z-ure..." Baxter trailed off. Tom smelled so good.
"No, Azure fits you! But I want the right to name you!" came a voice from afar.
Baxter and Tom jerked their heads toward the sound to see another cat man approaching. A sleek, black coated and very muscular cat -like man appeared from the shadows.
