"I'd love to be like you!" Ty considered. "I'd love for you to show me around and teach me all about being a bird."
"Oh, that's wonderful!" Jane hopped up and down happily. "I was hoping for you to pick that!"
"Okay!" Ty took a deep nervous breath. "Then I've just got to completely turn my body into a male blue jay, now."
"Oh, is that all?" Jane giggled. "Pfft! Easy!"
"Here goes." Ty kneeled, closed his eyes, and concentrated. He pictured himself morphing, quickly and painlessly, into a perfect copy of Jane - only male! A male copy of Jane! - and retaining his human mind and speech.
He opened his eyes just in time to see the world swiftly growing around him. He tingled all over. One moment he was a human teen. Then the next moment his pajamas were far too big and dangling off his wings. Er, wings?! And then in another moment he had perfectly transformed into a male blue jay. As he struggled to free himself of his giant shirt Jane stepped forward and quickly helped him out of the fabric.
The two birds stared at each other in awe.
"T-That was amazing!" Jane whispered, clearly in awe. "You... you..."
"I know!" Ty looked himself over excitedly, marveled at how light and dextrous his new body felt.
"Y-You're sooo handsome..." Jane swooned, and if it were possible for hearts to float above her head they would have.
"I am?" Ty blinked. He felt himself blush deeply under his smooth feathers.
"Yes..." Jane shook her head, as if clearing her thoughts, and then she went wide eyed. "Uh, Ty?"
He stared at her.
"We should have opened the window."
They both looked up and gulped, staring at the big closed window above them, seemingly several stories up from their small perspective.
"Ah, rats!" Ty winced.
