After the passion had cooled and Tabitha regained her composure, the human and the snake got to work. Using a home made lock pick she had clearly used many times before, Vipress sat coiled on the laboratory tabletop watching patiently as Tabitha produced a worn red notebook from the drawer.
"Here." She pointed, setting it down and flipping it open. "He did some of the work. Figured out how to warp and twist DNA. Problem is, he's not smart enough to make it work. So he knew how to do it, but not how to make what he wanted. I went through all of this." She flipped pages. "All of it. Every line, every theory, every formula, and learned what he was doing. And I improved it, made it better."
"I'm very impresssssed, darling." Vipress leaned in closer. "Can you explain what it all did to me?"
"I can." Tabitha nodded, flipping pages to the area describing the change. "What happens is the chemical is absorbed into the body. It works like a virus, infecting your slowly. It bonds to your cells, mutates your total DNA, and flips a bunch of switches. Those switches make up the commands that form your body. If the commands are altered then your body has to respond. And it changes."
"Makesss sssensssse to me." The snake looked at her woman. "But why did I get intelligent? Gain the ability to ssssssspeak your tongue? How isssss that possssssible?"
"You're right. Mere changing of your body shouldn't have made your brain change. So what I did was effectively create the basic information needed to stimulate the animal's brain and speech as well. Encoded deep deep in the serum is the basis for intelligence. This was made with a computer model. It's... complicated. But what it boils down to is that you're granted human like neurological capacity and systems, and your voicebox and vocal chords are altered them. I'm interested to see if it'll ever work on an animal where that equipment isn't there to begin with. Like, say, a giraffe or something. You with me, my beautiful snake?"
"I am." Vipress nodded. "I undersssstand."
"Okay. So that's how you got to this point. But what happened to you? Do you remember?"
Brendan! Vipress suddenly realized. She had forgotten. She had forgotten!! In the throws in their exciting woman/snake exploits, Vipress had simply forgot about everything. Well... no sense lying now.
The snake relayed the entire story. Of Brendan, the spray bottle, her growth, the experimenting, her cruelty, the sex. Everything. All the while Vipress apologized profusely, but Tabitha seemed more amused than anything else.
"You took his virginity." She concluded with a chuckle. "My deadbeat son lost his virginity to a reptile."
"You're not... mad?"
"I'm sure it was overwhelming. And I know you were following your survival instincts. I don't think you really would have harmed him, would you?"
"Well..." Vipress considered, and remember the warm feelings they had shared in bed. "No."
"Besides." Tabitha placed her hand tenderly on the snake's neck and gently stroked her back, grinning as the viper responded with a warm expression of enjoyment. "As fucked up as this all is, I don't mind sharing you."
"Sharing?" Vipress suddenly opened her eyes and seemed to bolt up in her coils.
"What, you think I'm not going to want to return the favor, my sweet snake?"
Now it was Vipress who blushed.
"Anyway." Tabitha grinned, patting her snake lover's head. "Don't worry about that for now. I don't want my sexy snakey to shrink away on me, now do I?" She tenderly brushed a finger over the reptile's muzzle and grinned.
The viper's blush deepened and she turned her head coyly. "I sssssupossssse not."
"So we need to work on another animal and try and replicate your results, sweetheart. And then we could work on making the change permenant."
"Okay." Vipress nodded. "Issss there anything I can do to help you?"
"There's lots you can do!" Tabitha nodded. "I think we can figure this out together. Maybe even tonight."
