April spoke. “You may wonder how with all the oceanic exploration going on, no one’s found any mermaid civilizations. Well that’s because we come from a whole different world; one where magic rules. Most mythological creatures you’ve heard of come from this world. Only those with magic can freely enter and exit it, though only Lisa knows how to do so.”
“Maybe this summer, I’ll take you.” Lisa added.
“Just as long as you don’t ‘take me’, if you catch my drift.” Kendra answered.
“Jeez, make one mistake…” Lisa trailed off.
“What about the whole lesbian thing?” Kendra asked.
“First off,” April said, “mermaids are entirely female, and that’s why you so easily succumbed to her. We’re naturally attracted to girls.”
“But I never became attracted to girls until Lisa kissed me.” Kendra said.
“How long have you been turning into a mermaid?” Lisa asked.
“A few months, when I turned 18.”
“That explains it.” April said. “Lisa’s advances jump started your mermaid sexuality. Straight girls who become mermaids take over three months to start becoming lesbian.”
“So, I would have started liking girls any day now, anyway right?” Kendra asked.
“Exactly.” Lisa said placing a hand on Kendra’s tail.
Kendra glared at her, “Watch it.” She said.
Lisa took her hand away and said, “Sorry.”
“Now as for what mermaids eat, don’t believe ‘The Little Mermaid’ for one second, we really enjoy…”
A loud gasp and a man shouting, “What the hell did you do to my daughter?” cut off April’s words. It was Kendra’s parents. By then the mermaid’s tails were starting to return to being legs.
“They didn’t do anything!” Kendra stood up and approached her parents.
“Stay back, don’t come near me.” Kendra’s mother shrieked.
“I get a call from the school nurse that Kendra’s sick and I come here to find she’s a lesbian mermaid?” Kendra’s father shouted.
“Mom, Dad, I…” Kendra sobbed.
