Upstairs, Owen had told Kyle that he had phoned the school, and that Kyle would be staying home today. Owen said goodbye, and asked Kyle to take it easy, as he headed off to work. Kyle agreed it would be for the best. The meds had already kicked in, but his head was still just a little throbbing. When he came back down the stairs, he saw Josh and Kevin jump up from the couch and they each tried to move separately. The struggle didn't last long, and they were quickly standing with Kyle. Josh looked off, trying to not seem caring, "So... you're really all right?"
Kyle was about to say something, but acted like he was about to pass out. Josh immediately reached out as he and Kevin shouted Kyle's name. Kyle smiled at both of them, "Got ya!"
"Ass." Josh shook his head, but couldn't stop the smirk from forming on his face.
"But ya, I'm just need to stay home today, that's all." Kyle shrugged, and walked into the living room.
Josh and Kevin followed, but just like before, they tried pulling in different directions. They looked at each other, and kept pulling. Josh gave a little lurch, "Knock it off! I'm gonna grab Kyle a drink!"
"Well you could have said so." Kevin grumbled and walked along.
"Acutally guys..." Kyle started.
"I didn't think I'd need to ask you for permission." Josh could be heard from the other room.
"We have to move together don't we? I think that's reason enough."
"Just shut up and hold the glass still."
"You're the on that's pouring it all over the place."
Kyle sighed, and sat back in the couch. If he didn't have a slight headache already, these two would give it to him. Kevin and Josh came back with a glass filled right to the rim with juice. They were just about to the couch when some of it spilled. Josh cursed, "I told you to be careful!"
"Why the hell did you fill it to the top?!" Kevin carefully moved with Josh to put it on the coffee table. As soon as he had, Josh started back to the kitchen for a clothe, but Kevin saw a folded one in a chair. Again they pulled each other, and again they argued. They were pushing on each other now, and Kyle had had enough.
"Holy crap guys, stop!" Kyle got up, grabbed the clothe Kevin was after, and cleaned the spill. "One of you, give me a chain!"
"What, are you crazy!" Josh yelled.
"Ya Kyle, you need to take it easy, remember?"
"I remember, but I can't listen to you two any longer." Kyle walked over, and reached his hand out for the chains, "I'm putting one on."
"Hold on!" Josh batted Kyle's hand away, "At least think about this." Kyle gave him a puzzled stare. "It should probably be me and you, but I have to go to work soon."
"Why don't you just get Dan over, and go to work together again?" Kevin asked.
"Uh, because I don't really want to see him."
"...But you're going to see him at work..."
"Shut up."
Kevin shook his head, "Kyle, put Josh's on. I've already missed half the day, I might as well miss the other half."
"Are you sure about this?" Kyle asked hesitantly.
"Ya, I'm pretty sure I don't want to be stuck to Josh anymore."
"That's not what he meant dumbass." Josh shook his head.
"I know..." Kevin said quietly, and let a moment of silence pass before nodding, "Yes. I'm sure Kyle."
