As Ty was walking along the main street his belly began to rumble.
“I’ll have to get something to eat.” He thought. He was in such a rush to get out of the house he hadn’t had anything for breakfast.
He patted his stomach, as if to tell it that food wasn’t going to be long coming, and he noticed he had a bit of a paunch.
“Will I be glad to get out of this body” he thought “I think I’ll skip breakfast!”
But that didn’t stop his belly growing, every few steps he took his belly rumbled, and with each rumble it grew a little more. It was as if someone was blowing air
into him, like he was a human balloon. The shirt he was wearing, which was big earlier this morning, was now skin tight.
“What can I do now?” he worried.
By the time he got to the end of the street he was panting, but at least he seemed to have stopped growing. He waddled into the nearest shop.
“Can you help me?” he asked the assistant.
“I’m sorry sir, we don’t do clothes in your size” he replied, hardly giving Ty a chance to get the question out.
“No, you don’t understand” answered Ty “I’m not this big”, trying to explain.
“really sir, the biggest waist that we do in this shop is 44 inches”
Ty left the shop disappointedly.
He walked slowly back down the street, towards home. It had taken him nearly an hour to walk up the street. “it’ll probably take me the best bit of an hour to get
back!” he thought.
As he waddled around the corner he noticed that Mark and June’s car was back. “Damn. They must be back from church” he said out loud.
As he walked up to the front door, Ty was beginning to wonder what to say to whoever opened it.
