"God, this is embarrassing to say but I always wanted to be a werewolf," said Nate.
"Really? Can I ask why?" asked Kathryn.
"There's just something about the raw connection to the most primal parts of a person, a connection to nature, and being able to let out the inner beast. The fur, the claws, the fangs, the snout, the whole transformation from man to beast. I've always wondered what that would be like," said Nate.
"Well, my darling, I think I can manage that," replied Kathryn. "Although, I think it would be best if you didn't turn into a beast out in the open here. Come back to my house..."
She stood up and started walking back to her house.
Nate's heart was beating a mile a minute. Did he dare go with her, not knowing what he was walking into? She seemed nice and genuine, but this all seemed too crazy. Kathryn turned back to Nate, noticing he was still on the swing.
"Are you coming?" she asked.
"Um..." was all he could get it out.
"I get it, you need proof that's I'm for real. Very well," she replied, giving a flick of her arm. Nate just kept staring at her. "Well, check yourself out!"
Nate looked down and saw the beginnings of a transformation he had only dreamt about. Brown fur was growing over his forearms and the back of his hands as his fingernails grew out into sharp claws. He felt a tingling around his ears and reached up to find they were larger, fuzzy and came to a point. He was instantly hard as his heart started beating faster.
"Oh my god," was all he could muster. "This is really happening."
He ran over to the parking lot not too far away and checked himself out in one of the car mirrors. He had pointed ears, rounding off at the tip, with fur growing behind them. His eyes had changed from their usual blue to a dazzling amber yellow. He watched more fur grew in, framing his face, and his teeth started to grow out into fangs.
"Geez Louise," he muttered.
"Do you believe me now?" asked Kathryn as she walked over.
"Yes, I definitely do," replied Nate.
"Good," replied Kathryn, giving another flick of her hand and when Nate looked back in the mirror he was instantly back to his old self.
"Aww..." he whined, already missing his wolfier self.
"Now, if you come back to my house, I can show you what I can really do," said Kathryn, holding out her hand. Nate graciously took it and together they walked back to her house.
