As Noah knocked on the door, Jeff wondered how long it had been since he'd become Noah's singlet. It couldn't be less than three weeks... or four? Maybe Mom would already have Noah's real singlet, and he could become human again in minutes! Then he... he wouldn't be wrapped around Noah any more. Jeff felt confused - he truly wanted to be back to normal, but he'd really miss having Noah's body inside of him.
The door opened. Jeff's mom looked surprised to see Noah. "Oh! Hello, Noah - I wasn't expecting to see you."
Noah smiled. He liked Ruth - she seemed like a great mom. "Hey, Ruth! Is Jeff in?"
A look of worry crossed her face - Noah didn't know why. "No, not at the moment. How are you liking that singlet he gave you?"
"It's amazing!" Noah said, grinning. Ruth smiled at his enthusiasm. Noah lifted his T-shirt for a moment, showing her that he was still wearing it. "It's the best I've ever had. That's why I came here - I wanted to thank Jeff."
Ruth smiled warmly, glancing down at the singlet that was her son. "Well, I'll be sure to pass that on to him."
"Hey - do you know if he wants it back at any point? I mean, is it a gift, or a loan?"
Ruth paused, looking unsure, staring down at Noah's - and Jeff's - body. After a few seconds thought, (which seemed a little intense, Noah thought, given the triviality of the subject), she told him, with certainty...
