Laying there in the shade of the tree in the terrarium, tearing away at the plush chew toy to vent your
frustrations felt pretty good to a certain degree. You were still angry, you were still hurting, but you had
something to direct those feelings at. You had an outlet, and that was good for now. You could focus your
attentions on the fact that you were now a german shepherd dog instead of a human woman later. Now you could
just keep your attentions on this damn chew toy and rip it up for all it was worth.
"Hey there," you hear a voice sound out behind you, and it startles you. You jump up, hackles raised a bit, a
growl in your throat as you turn to face... another dog? Another german shepherd? A male, by the looks of
it.
"Woah, woah, relax, girl, relax," he says to you, and that confuses you. Another talker, like you?
"You... you can talk?" you ask, tilting your head to the right as you sit down.
"So can you. Will wonders never cease? Suzy at the front desk called me and asked me to come check on you.
She said you were really upset and thought I'd probably be the best one to, you know, make sure you're okay,"
he sits down in front of you, and glances down at the chew toy you'd mostly destroyed. "Yup. Angry, huh?"
"Oh... uh... yeah, I..." you sigh, shaking your head. "Boyfriend tricked me into all this so he could cheat
on me, I... ex-boyfriend I guess..."
"Makes sense. But hey, forget him."
"Forget him? He got me turned into a dog and I'm stumbling all over my feet and I'm confused from all this...
this stuff I can't process and..."
"Yeah, that's the adjustment period. Lemme guess - when you first got here, you started acting like a dog
before changing."
"Yes, exactly! And now I am a dog and I can't make sense of it all."
"That's because your brain's in a flux. Happens on our level of transformation. You're too smart and too
strong-willed to just... let go of what you were like most people."
"Oh... well, I don't know about THAT..."
"It's true. That's the reason you changed the way you did. Because you were a damn smart woman with a very
strong sense of self and now you're a damn smart bitch with a very strong sense of self. You're already
adjusting, though. Like when you growled at me in surprise. That was a dog reaction."
"So... you mean, I'll what, reach a halfway point?"
"Exactly. You'll still think like you always have, but you'll also be able to process things on a canine
level. Once your mind's balanced out, it's really a beautiful experience. We've got it the best, really.
Smart enough to be able to appreciate what were before and how much better we are now."
"Better? I mean... I'm wearing a dog collar, I don't even have thumbs anymore... we're pets, for God's
sake..."
"Give it a chance," he suddenly stands up, tail wagging some. "Come on, let's go for a walk. It'll give you
a chance to get used to the way you move, I can show you around the place, then maybe we can grab a bite for
lunch."
You take a deep breath and let it out slowly, considering his offer. Do you really want to go with him? Or
would you rather just stew here in your anger alone?
