Oliver and Hunter went to gym class, Oliver was still a little shocked about how he had lost control so easily in the last class.
"Does that losing control thing happen a lot?" Oliver asked.
"for the first phew days you fade in and out like that, but then you're kinda stuck acting like that" Hunter said, scratching his ear with his
hand, but it moved like when a dog uses its leg.
In gym class they went outside and had to do the mile run (4 and a half laps around the football field.) Hunter and Oliver started
running. Hunter quickly switched to running on all fours and proved to actually be faster on all fours then on 2 legs.
After his first 2 laps, Oliver soon started to feel weird running the normal way. He couldn't understand it, he just didn't think it was how
he should run, he soon started running on his legs and knuckles like a monkey. He proved to be faster like this then the regular way. It
felt more natural to run this way.
The gym class was over and Oliver and Hunter were walking normally again. Oliver started sitting in his seat in that squatting position for
the rest of the day, finding it more comfortable. They then went home. Outside his house Oliver caught a bug in his hands and ate it,
loving the taste.
His parents were watching from the door, smiling obviously happy with the way the retroviruses effected their son. They had figured out
that their son was becoming a monkey. His parents happy he was friends with Hunter, but hoping he will become friends with other
monkeys, other kids like him. They thought the scientist, pretending to be a doctor to give their son the retroviruses, was lying about
how he could help them. But the effects of the viruses seemed to speak for themselves.
