The school was new to Oliver, but it had many similarities to Oliver's old school and Oliver quickly fell into a routine. Oliver noticed that the school was divided into a High School and Middle School. The Middle School, grades 6th-8th, was greatly smaller than the High School. Hunter explained that this was to acommadate for the vast array of animals that the High School had to teach.
Oliver's classes were the same as his old classes, but the class size was a lot smaller. Hunter said that Oliver was the fifteenth kid to join the 6th grade, and the numbers were about the same in the other grades.
The largest difference was the school's cafeteria. In it there were three sections: Herbevore, Omnivore, and Carnivore. Oliver followed Hunter through the Omnivore line, and then followed Hunter to a table that had two other boys at it.
"Oliver, this is Aleks and Jon," Hunter explained as an introduction. Oliver nodded andsat down next to Jon.
"You know, normally I get lunch from the Carnivore line," Oliver said while poking at his food.
"What do they serve there?"
"Raw meat," Jon said in disgust.
"Gross," said Oliver. He watched as two very hairy boys walked out carrying raw steaks.
A few days later, Oliver was walking home from school with Hunter.
"Are you okay Oliver? You don't look so well," Hunter said noticing his friends pale complextion.
"I'm fine, just cold."
You're lucky that its April. The winter monthes can get cold." said Hunter.
Oliver suddenly stopped walking, leaned over a ditch, and puked up the contents of his lunch.
"Dude! Gross!"
"Sorry, I haven't been able to keep down much in the way of food recently," Oliver explained.
"It could be the retrovirus. What do eat more vegetables or meats?"
"Vegetables."
"And when you eat meat, does it stay down?"
"Actually, it does." exclaimed Oliver.
"Then it means you're a carnivore, just like me!"
The two friends grinned and high-fived before rushing home.
