You and Ferus have had such a good life together, and you don't want it to end. So naturally, this is when Runt decides to return.
You are relaxing in your home after a hunt when you here a "pop" and see him in front of you.
"What do you want?" You ask angrily.
"Is that any way to greet an old friend?" He asks. Some friend! "Come on dude, it's time to go home. I promised, remember?" It had
been so long that you barely remembered anything.
"This is home," you tell him. "It has been for years!"
"For you, maybe," he replies. "Only a few weeks for me. Time is weird between worlds, you know?" A few weeks? It felt like a
lifetime! "Now come on, we got a schedule to keep! I'm dropping you off and going on my way. New York is so much fun." You
couldn't believe this. He wanted to take away the life you built.
"I'm not going," you say loudly.
"Sorry, man. You don't have a choice." He lunges at you, but you've been training. You dash off and grab some spears; one touch
means he can do whatever he wants with you, so you have to stay back. He teleports away and dodges every shot, but you have your
wits about you enough to dodge him at all. Still, this is going nowhere. You need a plan. Minotaurs don't really plan, so you have
trouble, but come up with something eventually.
You wait, standing still. "I give up," you say softly.
"I'm not that easy to trick," he replies. "But this fight is tedius. A chipmunk would be easier to deal with." He charges at you again,
and you throw a spear. He teleports right up to you...as you hold your last spear out. He teleports into the strike and falls. Not
taking chances, you throw it at him. The imp is dead; he won't harm you again.
You quietly wait for Ferus to return from his hunt. You can't wait to celebrate with him.
