…And luckily, the coast is clear. I walk out to an empty street. Most of my neighbors are too scared to come
out because of Pagan Pete’s Devil’s Hoard. I strolled down the street until I heard a noise from an alleyway.
Looking in 3 Hoard members are beating up a homeless man. “Ugh, what a sickening display.” You say to
yourself, you sneak past the alleyway praying that none of the Hoard members spot you. I reached the corner
where the station is, 2 Hoard members are hanging around the entrance, I had to wait until they moved and they
did, good thing they moved away from me, I went down the stairs carefully not to make any footfalls and alert
the two gang members. I took out my MTA card out and put it in the turnstile, it unlocked with an audible
click. “I heard something down there.” I heard from the top of the stairs. I went through the turnstile
quietly locking it in place, but too late. The two Hoard members spotted me “There! Stop him before he gets to
the platform.” I ran towards the platform and spotted the D train pulling in. Good thing it’s going towards
Stillwell Ave. “You stop! I don’t recall Pagan Pete giving you permission to travel.”
I made it into the train just in time for it to pull out. I can only see the gang members waving their fists
at me. “You’re a lucky guy.” Said one of the passengers, “This neighborhood is dangerous.” I only nodded in
agreement, because I was out of breath. I sat down on an available seat. I watched in darkness until the
tunnel ends, after several stops I heard automatic announcement, “Stillwell Avenue—Coney Island next stop, and
the end of the line.”
I got off the train as the doors opened, I followed the signs to the exit and when I went outside I see Coney
Island across the way and I heard a car horn, looking around I spotted Nate waiting in his Cadillac Escalade.
“Hello Joshua, you’re right on time. Come in and we’ll go for a drive.” I got into his SUV and drove around
Brooklyn until he drove to a warehouse and drove in. We got off, he closed the warehouse doors. “Nate, what’s
going on?” I asked, “ Why are we here instead of Coney Island?” Nate smiles “I have something to tell you.
Something you should know about.” I looked at Nate in puzzlement. “Oh?” Nate says “I have a secret I’ve been
longing to tell you, now I wish to share it with you.” “Secret?” I asked “What Secret?”
