So,back in 1955 they'd made the original gillman film,then had come the second film
where scientists had healed a critically wounded gillman,and then some plastic surgery.
Then came the 3rd film,where after the usual mayhem and love interest,the original
gillman,surgically altered and unable to breath underwater,had left human civilization
and headed back to the Black Lagoon.
Now by 1962 99 million people had watrched those three films,not to mention
the look alikes from the Munsters and other derivative gillmen.
As we all know,observing something can change something,make it alter its
behaviour.And 99 million was the magic number.What was a lot of light photopns
splashing off the movie screen suddenly became aware of its own existence.
The original image became aware of its own existence,its "aliveness"
Alas the Gill Man was bound by the celluloid universe he lived in and found himself
forced to act out the plots of the 3 movies over and over again for half a century,throttling
cut out characters who screamed and died on cue.
After a half century the Gill Man was heartily sick and tired of this
hell of a existence.
Now at the same time the costume had been turning you into a character in a cellul;oid
strip of film,the Gill Man had been heading towards the exit point of the end of the third film.
Then he was smashing through the door of the Change Room into the flesh and blood world,at the
same time you were being absorbed by streams of photons into the cinematic universe.
Naturally the Gill Man was unawares of his change in fortune,and went charging through
the costume shop,looking for a human to toss aside.
He crept up to a open back room,where he saw a human hunched over a strange device,performing
various tasks that left the Gill Man puzzled.
Now the shopkeeper had downloaded the Creature data of images and movies into his
computor,and just as he had discovered how to use a costume to alter the body contained within,
his video editting transformational technology allowed a 1950s cursed film projector to project a 3 d image
on a screen,which was where you and the world you now inhabited materialized on.
The Gill Man,still acting in character,promptly rushed over to the shopkeep and hoisted him off the
chair by his neck and was choking him.
About 20 seconds into this the Gill Man realized the human wasn't dying like the script demanded,and
then came the startling realization this wasn't a script anymore,and the Gill Man's claw hands sprang
open and the gasping shopkeeper fell to the rug,where he lay gasping but alive.
Meanwhile the Gill Man ( surgically altered as per the end of the 3rd film) was having a
< Eureka Hot Damn Holy Mother Mary Jesus and Joseph > moment as he looked down at the shopkeeper,
then the 1950s projector,the screen where a closeup of you under the water played
then the general flesh and blood material physical world he now inhabited
The Gill Man,no fool he,bent down and helped the shopkeeper back into his chair,his
Gill Man brain teeming with questions and possibilities...
