Yasmin's parents were sad to see her go. It had been hard enough losing one daughter, although they all told
themselves that Cady was probably having a great life as an animal, so unable were they to confront the
likelihood of what had happened to her. "Say hello to Cady for us," her mother said, hugging her daughter
tightly.
"I will, mom," Yasmin said.
Yasmin arrived at the Metamorphosis Center with a nervous enthusiasm. It was scary, but maybe things would be
okay. Lots of girls were made into sows, and the educational materials made it look kinda fun. All the food you
can eat, no worries or obligations. She didn't even read the short paragraph on meat production. She just didn't
want to consider the possibility of it.
In the waiting room, Yasmin looked down at her slender hands. How would they look as fat trotters? And her legs.
They'd be much wider. Both Yasmin and her sister had prided themselves on their looks, their appearance and
fashion. But if Cady could do it, Yasmin could, too.
A kindly looking nurse opened the door to the doctors offices. "Yasmin? If you could come through."
