Jeff Clone looked over at the window sill. A squirrel who had seen Carl vanish while on a nearby tree branch
had been compelled by curiosity to see what was happening in Jeff's room and had hopped on the ledge.
Jeff Clone grinned and said, "We have a volunteer! Hello, Carl Squirrel!"
He hit execute. The squirrel froze as the Chronivac locked in on him and began reconstructing him in Carl's
image. A naked Carl was squatting on the windowsill of Jeff's room when the Chronivac finally pinged.
He blink and looked around. He started to turn to exit the window, but his new larger form impacted with the
window and he fell forward into the room.
"What the-? Hey, I'm speaking man-talk!"
"Duh, Carl, you're not a squirrel anymore. You should have Carl's memories and know-"
"Know that the real Carl is a sock, and so is the real Jeff. And if you don't want me telling anybody, you
better get me some nuts right now, Sock boy!" Carl Squirrel said with an evil grin.
Jeff Clone looked confused. He had been a sock, an object before becoming Jeff and getting his memories. He
hadn't considered a squirrel might already have its own personality and for that matter Carl had different
memories than Jeff and a different personality. Jeff Clone frowned and shrugged. He picked up Carl's underwear
and threw it at Carl Squirrel.
"Get dressed!" he ordered, adding, "I'll go get the nuts!" He made sure he was dressed okay and descended on
the kitchen to get his creation nuts.
The former Squirrel got up and stared at the Chronivac. He licked his lips, and sat down and started typing.
