While in her room, Amy had an idea. She got her cellphone and called her boyfriend.
"Hey Amy" answered her boyfriend, Mark. "I was just about to call you and see if wanted to go see a movie tonight."
"I've got a better idea: come over to my house. I have something to show you."
"Oh? A surprise?"
"Definitely."
"See you soon."
Amy grabbed some towels and took them out to the pool along with the bag containing the other necklace. Placing the items on a deck chair, she spotted Lina swimming laps in the pool. Lina apparently hadn't even bothered to remove her clothes before diving into the pool: her lilac mermaid tail stuck out from under her skirt and her white blouse clung to her in a way that left little to the imagination.
Spotting Amy, Lina swam up to the edge of the pool.
"No pain when you transform in the water?" asked Amy.
"Nope. And the transformation is faster. Thank goodness too: as soon as I got to the pool, I put on the necklace and dove right in. I couldn't wait a minute longer!"
"I noticed."
"Put your necklace on and join me. It feels so amazing being a mermaid - I don't think I ever want my legs back!"
"Wow, quite a change of heart from a few hours ago."
"Join me and you'll see why."
Amy had been preparing to put on her necklace at the pool, but now with Mark on the way and Lina overly excited about being a mermaid she wondered if she had second thoughts. Maybe her boyfriend should see her as a mermaid the first time in private?
