It has been around 2 years since Lilia first stepped foot on dry land as a human for the first time. She began living in a small abandoned boarded up beach shack where she spent her days as a human in order to hide her mermaid form when she transformed. When she transformed, she would either take another dosage of serum or secretly crawl to the sea for another stock. She easily landed a job in a fish store due to her vast knowledge of marine life so after a while, she received her regular pay and began her life tasting human food and drinks when she could. She even went out with her friends for drinks, parties and social events.
Half a year went by and Lilia sought her mermaid serum more and more. The need to discover the human world and make new friends was just too great. She visited her family often who were supportive of her decision. But little did the family know, the serum comes with only one side effect which would later effect Lilia's human life.
Lilia went around a lot developing new friendships that she sought for and she even had a few relationships which in the end did not end well. That was until she met her possible soul mate. The man was a business consultant named Drew. They chatted a lot and eventually developed a relationship. After about a year with being together, Drew and Lilia both expressed their love for each other. Drew could not stand any more nights without her so after expressing their love, Drew pops the question. He asks Lilia to move in with him in the city just a few miles away from her beach shack. Without any hesitation, Lilia agrees.
Lilia needed as much of the serum as possible. She needed to be human almost all the time now if she was living with someone and away from the sea. So before that happened, Lilia became a mermaid to visit her family and to stock up on about half a years worth of the serum. She decided to hide the potion deep underground under her beach shack and have around 2 months worth, hidden in the attic of her boyfriends home. As her boyfriend was at home every night and weekend and her shifts for work were during the day, there was no time slot for her to become a mermaid again. She began to think that she needed the serum all the time. In fact, she did.
A month and a half later and Lilia had become adjusted to life as a full human. though she did miss seeing her family and the sea a lot. Drew had come home from work once again exhausted from another tough day. It was about time for Lilia to renew her mermaid serum intake. So she grabbed a bottle which she had in her purse. She excused herself to the bathroom just before dinner was to be served in order to take it. She had around a half an hour remaining before the 24 hours was up so it was the best time to take it.
Dinner was ready and served so they both took a seat and began talking about their day. Drew had a tough client and Lilia had a busy day at the store. Suddenly, Lilia began to feel funny. Like the feeling that she was going to become a mermaid again. But she had just taken the serum. The adrenaline started up. She knew she had just enough time to run to the bedroom so she made a quick exit. Leaving drew confused and asking questions. With little response, Drew got up and knocked on the bedroom door.
"DON'T COME IN!!!" Lilia screeched at the top of her lungs. But it was too late. Drew walked in only to find...
