Cassandra didn’t have time to wonder who Tulip was talking about; she was too busy fidgeting. “Calm down Cassandra, we’re half way there already and I don’t want to drop you.” Tulip said.
“Sorry, but something’s up with my back.” Cassandra said.
Tulip set down on the ground and Cassandra put her hand to her forehead, wincing. Tulip noticed something start to stick out from the side of Cassandra’s hair. “Wait a minute, let me see something.” She said as she brushed the side of Cassandra’s hair away. “By the goddesses, why didn’t I see it sooner?” She shouted at the sight of Cassandra’s longer, more pointed ear.
“What, what’s going on?” Cassandra asked in a mild panic, grabbing her ears. “What’s with my ears? They feel…” Cassandra gasped as she felt them take a sudden jump in length. Feeling them again, Cassandra knew they were the same shape as Tulip’s. “Am I…”
“Yes, you’re becoming a fairy. Your shrinking was just the first step.” Tulip answered as Cassandra groaned. Fairy antennae slowly grew out from behind her bangs. Her eyes became framed in a golden yellow like her hair and her lips turned a shimmering pink.
“Cassandra,” Tulip said, “I’ll need to alter your outfit; it’s not suited for the next part.” Cassandra nodded, Tulip took a deep breath and blew a plume of fine dust that glittered in every color at Cassandra’s outfit. The straps and back of the overalls shrank away as the front became a flower petal bodice, the legs flared and lengthened into a flower petal skirt and the shirt migrated down her arms, becoming silken gloves.
“Wow,” Cassandra said, “it looks nice, like a real f…” Cassandra suddenly groaned in pain and collapsed into Tulip’s arms. Tulip saw four bulges develop on Cassandra’s back. Cassandra’s moans went from pained to almost pleasant as the bulges grew into thin blue translucent sheets, taking the shape of butterfly wings. They stopped growing for a moment and started to quiver before finally, in one great burst eliciting a sharp gasp from Cassandra, her wings suddenly flared into their final size.
The first thing Cassandra did when she stood up was look behind her back. “My wings…” she said, “they’re beautiful!” She giggled like a little girl as she leaped into the air and fluttered around. “I can fly! I’m a fairy!”
Tulip flew up to Cassandra. “And a lovely fairy you are. Now come, I still have someone I should introduce you to.”
"Who?" Cassandra asked.
