Except it wasn't his house,it was a rental unit that both Tabitha and he paid for.
And unknownst to Rick,Tabitha was a practising witch whose previous husbands had vanished
after Tabitha had lost her temper and changed them into animals.
So it was that Tabitha was coming back to the house after a particularly hard day at the office.
She immediately smelt the stench from Rick's laboratory,a stench that
reminded her of dragon drool,something she was acquainted with,being a witch.
So it was she stormed into the house in a blazing rage,and confronted a angry Rick coming up the
basement stairs.
Rick was shouting something about her son Brendon,but all Tabitha was thinking was
that if Rick wanted their shared house to smell as bad as a dragon's lair,he aught to be
one.
So it was her eyes glowed and the magicks crackled around Tabitha's hands as she chanted

Be a beast
With a long snout
Stand on all four
Horses a feast
Your wings will carry you about
A skin of scales
A chest of armoured plate
A long winding tail you'll be dragg'n
Heavier then ten tons of rails
A hunger that will nevr sate
You'll now a huge mighty fierce dragon
Rick just stood there,not believing what he'd heard
Then came the flash of light as twin globes of magical fire flared out from Tabitha's
hands and struck him.
His "umphhh" quickly turned to a startled gasp of pain as he felt
himself fall on all fours on the stairs as he began to writhe and stretch out on the
steps as bones cracked and lengthened,skin stretched and grew dark and thickened,and the
backside of Ricks shirt split down the middle to reveal a widening dark brown
scaly back with 2 humps that were stretching out into wings.
Tabitha immediately regreted her action,but it was too late.
Ignoring the look of terror in Ricks growing eyes as his nose flattened
out,his nostrils took on a new appearance and his face began to creak and pull out
longer,Tabitha ran up to Brendon's room and told him to forget about any relationship
with his latest in a long line of stepfathers.
The mother and son rushed down the stairs,to stare at Rick's still
enlarging human skinned upper torso push out of the top of the basement
stairway entrance and something behind it grew and lengthened.
Brendon could see that Rick wasn't too pleased to be turning into a dragon
and decided to settle old scores with Rick while he still could affect the
transformation spell his mother Tabitha had cast.
No mean warlock himself,Brendon stood in front of the emerging monster and said
Your house you said
You wanted things tidy and neat
And were a vegetarion
Now your dragons breath will be fiery red
You'll now lie and cheat
And will cough up contagion
No more rat mammal for you
It'll be a spiky back
You'll soon forget your human past
Your wings are a deep blue
Your huge beating heart in a sack
Before these dragon spells can be uncast
Rick bellowed out a strangled "gnaroarrrr" as the changes speeded
up and his neck and hidden tail continued to lengthen and grow.
Brendon watched on in satisfaction as the plaster walls of the stairway
bulged and cracked and buckled as Ricks upper torso deepened,grew in witch
and darkened to a darked colour as his dragon hide kept up with the monsters
continuing changes.
Tabitha and Brendon then stood,as the stairs collapsed and Rick vanished
as with a splintering crash,his huge body slid back into the darkened basement.
As the beasts heart grew,the two spellcasters could hear it beating slower as
Rick's heart grew to the size of a 45 gallon drum of dragon muscle.
They could hear the sloshing of a long serpentine tongue coming out of the monsters
maw as it sensed new smells with its tongue.
Its breath grew slow and steady and louder as Rick began to wonder what all his terror
had been about.
As the dragon felt his horns push out of his skull he could feel
the final changes push 3 foot tall venomous spikes down the length of his lengthy
spine,some spines which pushed through the floor above him.
Finally Rick felt the changes stop,and uttered a deep grunt of power as he felt his 3 toes forepaws and the
beast closed its eyes and heaved upwards,feeling the tiny man made building fall
apart above it as Rick shrugged the wrecakge off his back .
As the wreckage cleared the dragon raised its dragons head 5 10 15 then 20 feet
in the air as Rick surveyed his new domain and hunting grounds.
As the beasts jaws sprang open gallons of gops of pinkish red
dragon drool dripped off its sharp ivory daggers of teeth...
