"C'mon guys," Adam Baker said to his two pals as they snuck into the carnival from a body sized hole underneath the fence. Although the three of them had enough money for admission Adam liked to get away with things. Oh he never did anything like shoplifting or vandalism or hotwiring cars, but he loved the thrill of pulling pranks and makinbg other people look foolish, without anyone suspecting it was him.
"I don't know about this," Denny Applegate said. A gloomy boy by nature, Denny hated getting into trouble but every time he participated in one of Adam's pranks, they got off scot free.
"Oh lighten up," said Kelly Mitchell. A blonde tomboy, she'd been friends with both Adam and Denny since kindergarten. She was always a willing participant in Adams pranks, and love seeing the looks on the faces of their victims.
"There." Adam pointed to the trailer behind the fortune teller's tent. He saw the woman just leave her trailor dressed in normal clothes, meaning she'd likely gone off to eat dinner before doing her evening fortune telling. "You got the powder, Kelly?"
"Right here." Kelly took out a small packet of powder from her jacket. It was a special joke powder; within fifteen minutes of contact with human sweat it would turn red and cause an unbearable itch.Adam had learned previously the fortune teller was a young attractive woman who used makeup to make herself into an oldcrone for her act. Replace her makeup powder with the joke powder-oh, the sight of it!
"Okay, let's go." The door to the tailer was unlocked and there wasn't anybody looking in their direction. The three thirteen year olds wnet inside-and were awe struck. Instead of a normal trailer the place of decorated like Elvira's living room.
"Ok, I guess that's her vanity." Kelly handed him the powder, and Adam walked over to the vanity. He sat down, and began searching through the vanity drawers-
and the armrests of the chairwrapped around him, holding him in place.
"What!" Adam cried. "Help!" Kelly ran over and tried to pry the armrests around Adam loose, but they wouldn't budge. Denny ran for the door, but the door was suddenly locked.
"I knew one day we'd get caught!" Denny yelled.
"Well, don't jusstand there!" Kelly cried. "Help me get Adam out of this chair!" Suddenly another chair standing nearby flew at Kelly aand seated her, wrapping it's armrests around her. A rope next came at denny and wrapped itself around him, effectivly tying him up.
The three yelled and screamed, yet no one seemed to hear them-until the trailor doorknob turned and in stepped the fortune teller.
"Well well well," she said as she walked over to them, 'what do we have here?" She saw the packet of joke powder and smiled. "Panning a little joke, were you? Well, as it just so happenes, our carnival is in need need of three new-"
