Now as we all know 1313 Farondring Street is the location of a run down part
of Faron Tweed,a little village somewhere in the waters northeast
of Great Britain on the small island nation of Celtinavia.
So it was that Erik,Gertrude,Susan and Peter were somewhat surprised
to discover a ad for research experiments going on in their rather drab and
plain looking building.
They looked at the Faron Champion ,dated August 15th 1930,
to see if maybe there'd a misprint.
No,the ad said "1313 Forandring Street" which to the best of their
knowledge only housed low income and working poor apartments.
It took them a few minutes to spot the error
"Foran" for "Faron"
at which point Susan commented on Eriks way
of pronouncing the street address as
"dirteen dirteen far on de ring"
which eventually led the 4 kids to comment on "de ring"
which happened to be a fairly large abandoned circular cattle pavillion
sitting at the back of the property and towards which the street was oriented.
Could the mysterious ad be referring to the old circular building?
They had time to burn,so the four ran down the path going through
the gloomy woods set behind the main apartment flats.
As they came out of the woods,they noted that the old building,which
must have been a century old,had lights on in the windows.
That was a surprise since the place had been abandoned before
electricity had become commonplace and gas lighting was the norm.
And since workcrews had ripped out the old rusty gas pipes along the street just 3 months earlier,it seemed impossible the place was lit up
like it was.
However they continued to walk forward and pushing open a
side door,entered "de ring"...
