Captain Yorik and the rest of the 22 member team assigned to Susan wasted no time making their
appearance known.
Cindy was screaming her head off and Yorik knew the transformed human girl Susan
must be just as fearstricken.
He ran up,scooped up Cindy and leapt onto Susans wing and stood beside the open canopy.
He breathed a sigh of relief.Only Susan herself could moved and turn and activate her new
antatomy,a fact one cursing elf found as he tried to move Susans seriously bent down elevators
up.They would not budge.Likewise a Merlin piston engine whose cylinders were well oiled
appeared to have seized up.Her prop would not turn.
Luckily Susans 6 volt battery posts were in a open accessible place and the elf with the
battery wagon quickly attached the startup cables to her.
Electrical life coursed through the aeroplane.
Yorik dropped Cindy onto the gunners seat and noted the wince from the human girl
As the elf guardian in the pilots seat it felt like the warm leather cushions of
the seat were as hard as rock.Susan was tense and needed to loosen up.
He needed to communicate with her via the planes radio,yet only she could turn herself on.
He waited for minutes,before various switches ,choke levers,engine throttles and other
things began to move.The "ON" light on the radio flickered on and as the hum of the
warming tubes died down,Susans voice came through the planes PA system,asking if anyone was there.
For though Susan could feel the grass rubbing on her rubber,she still wasn't aware of the elves and Cindy,
beyond the odd light touch on her seats and the tight grip of life giving battery clamps
squeezing painfully on her 2 posts.
Slowly Cindy,Captain Yorik and Susan sorted things out via the radio,and Captain Yorik
told her she was a very pretty aeroplane.
He neglected to inform her of the machine cannons and gun carriage in her wings and sitting behind
Cindy.
There was no need to alarm Susan about what a lethal entity she'd just turned into
So he gentled coaxed her to soften up,which certainly helped his posterior sitting
on that concrete hard pilots seat.
Then he introduced his team,who ,well trained on these matters,polished her
surfaces,oiled her hinges and asked Susan if she would allow Chief Mechanic Barley to help
her learn more about herself.
