Jane brushed a few strands of her dirty blonde hair aside as she exited the store. She looked down through her
thin glasses, at the box set she held. "Well, I hope this'll do..." She sighed to herself, before trekking
home across her small town. She didn't need to go far, just across and up a hill to her home in the suburbs.
She reflected on the state of her town as she walked through downtown. She had been quite surprised to find
that little shop there, a kinda new age herbal nick knack shop. Considering that most of the businesses around
were empty, or worse crumbling slowly into rubble, that little store seemed like a tiny light. Likely to be
swallowed up soon though, Jane mused.
Still, she was lucky to find something. She looked down again at her purchase, counting the candles again.
"Pleasure Island Set..." She softly read the name aloud. She had needed something for her party tonight, and
this seemed to fit the bill. She hoped. Jane had never thrown a slumber party before, so not at seventeen,
going on eighteen soon, she was a little at a lost.
A small smile crept across her face, and she stood up a little straighter, huffing her b cup chest out. It
didn't matter if she knew what she was doing, she was going to make it work. This set is just a nice addition
to everything else for the night. She wanted to make sure it was a good night. Especially considering whom it
was for.
Her friend, Lauren, and neighbor for over a decade and a half, was in definite need of cheering up. Lauren was
considered by some, to be Jane's better half. Jane had dirty blonde hair, hazel eyes, glasses, B cup at best,
and an overall plain appearance and demeanor. Lauren far from plain. She had brilliant platinum blonde hair,
blue eyes, and a buxom DD cup bust. Years of cheer leading and volleyball had left her legs and stomach tight
and toned, while her genes had given her a wonderfully curved set of hips and tush. She had a slight overbite,
which gave her subtle almost bucked teeth when she smiled, but only helped to make her personality all the
warmer. The two of them were about even academically, with both pushing for the valedictorian.
Well, they were, till Lauren's boyfriend of over four years dumped her. That was why Jane was having her
slumber party. Her oldest friend was spiraling down a web of despair, torn over the boy that left her quite
coldly as he left for university, a whole country away. She had been in tears for nearly a week now, and had
even missed some classes! She couldn't sit idly by and wait anymore, so she set up this party.
And with that pleasant thought, she found herself outside her house. With a smile and a skip she entered,
setting the set on the counter of her kitchen. She checked the home phone, only finding the message from her
parents from earlier. They had called to tell her they'd be out until Monday, having gotten their flight
canceled and rescheduling. Meant she would have all the extra time to clean up, since it was only Friday
afternoon. She quickly pulled out her cell phone and sent off a pair of texts, one to each of the other two
girls she had invited over, mutual friends of herself and Lauren's. She thought for a moment, as she waited
for the replies. All her friends and herself were 17, just about to turn 18 all within a few months of each
other. What would they do when they graduate...
Her thoughts were interrupted by the reply from one friend. After a quick glance she pocketed her phone, and
made her way to the front door. The other two would be arriving soon, so she went to collect Lauren. Being
right next door, this wasn't much harder than walking over to her house, and knocking. She smiled warmly and
waited, the door clicking and opening...
