“Thank you,” you both say as you and Becky then sit down with Elise and have tea with her.
“Now I will tell you the story behind these werewolves,” Elise said as she began to tell her tale. “Long ago, there was a beautiful warrior named Morgan Grey. She was a skilled warrior who combatted creatures that threatened humanity. She fought many creatures and won, defeated those that no one else could, and no one knew of her deeds all of this time. However, as the years went by, she became weaker as she grew older. Eventually, she came here, and fought the monsters that terrorized this town, and fought her against a hoard of Werewolves in the process. She defeated the werewolf hoard, but was bitten herself, and eventually, she became a werewolf herself, her mind warped by the curse put upon her. Before she was completely corrupted, she’d left her journal of her life here, allowing us to know the truth before she went out into the wild to become a true werewolf.”
“That’s quite a story,” you say, “How come you weren’t infected though?”
“I have ways of avoiding werewolves,” Elise replied. “Now we must find a way for you to either escape, or at least survive.”
“How are we going to do that?” Becky asked, “The boat won’t come until at least tomorrow.”
“There are multiple ways to do that,” Elise replied, “You can sleep in my room for the night, and we can find ways to escape the island without anyone noticing you leave, or we can take more elaborate measures.”
“What do you mean by ‘elaborate’?” you asked.
“Werewolves aren’t the only unusual things on this island,” Elise replied, “there are several mythical beings all around us, and I’ve become acquainted with many of them. If you chose to, we can find them and convince them to live among them, as one of them. There’s also an abandoned black-ops facility that researched cybernetic and genetic research that would ‘give you an edge out there’.”
“WHAT?!” you and Becky cry out simultaneously.
“We can’t do that!” you cried, “We have families.”
“If we get turned into anything we won’t see them again!” Becky cried.
“Pleasure island, the one you intended to go to before would’ve turned you into complete animals both body and mind,” Elise argued, “Would you prefer that?!”
“Sorry,” you say to Elise, “We just didn’t see that coming.” Becky nodded in agreement. “Becky and I just need time to think about this.”
“Okay,” Elise said as she got up to look at her collection of books. “I’ll see you in the morning.”
