Ryan shuffeled the cards, and gave five to each hands. The cards were strange.
Mary, for example, had two blue cards with the topic MIND on them. One had an old wizard on it. Under the picture was written: "Wise man: Mind complexity increases, memory decreases". The second one had an eye with spirals on it. The text was: "True eyes: See secrets, pay two yourself".
Another topic was ANIMAL: The card had a rabbits head on it. The writing said: "Rabbits ears: Improvement of Hearing, Fear"
Then she had an exchange card with "Head" written on it, and the last card has the Topic ENHANCEMENT: On it was a mirror, and the text said: "Improve your Appearance"
Tobi read the starting rules from the rulebook:
"Step 1) shuffel and give cards
Step 2) choose a token to represent you on the gameboard
Important Rules: -If you tell anyone about your cards, the card must be discarded. Each player may place one card every turn in front of him, to show he or she wants to trade. The category (Mind, Nature, Animal, Enhancement, Mimicrie, Age, Multiple or Exchange) may be told. Everyone may change his dropped card with this one, but he or she must play it immidiatly on him/herself!
If you play more than one card from a theme (E.g: a specific animal or a specific charakter)on a player or non-player, the positive effects will increase!
Step 3) If all tokens are placed, all players must touch the crystal once, to start the game.
Step 4) Follow the displays instructions.
Step 5) Enjoy the interactive games!"
Bob wondered: "So if this game has a display, it is computer-based then? But why it has a dice??"
Dina answered: "Must be this way. But i want to start now. I don´t know wehter my cards are good or not, but i want to find out." She took a wooden token, and placed it at a random place on the board. Then her index finger touched the smokey crystal plate. "Ouch!"; She made, when a small blue spark of electricity sprang over. All the others followed, and everytime a small blue sparkle sprang over.
"I hope it isn´t out of work!", said Bob. Lissy pointed to the board and asked: "The rules weren´t specific about where to place the tokens. Do you think it is right, that in my corner are two, in the opposite are three, and mary stands alone?" She tried to fix Marys token, but it seemed to be stuck on the board. She wanted to tell it to the others, but then the blue glow of the crystal took her perception.
On the "display" was written: "First Level: Lost in the wizards forest."
Small wooden plates came up from between the boards hexameters, and built a labyrinth. The display told the following: "You are all members of a vacation group in the national park. You tried to take some adventures for your own, and now you got lost. Mission goal: Find a map and find each other."
Mary took the dice and rolled. "It´s my birthday, and so i start! A three. OK. I move in Lissy and Tobis corner. then the two groups may find each other."
She wanted to move her token, but then she interrupted and asked: "When can i play cards?" Tobi fetched the book, and after a short reading he told her: "You may play one everytime you want. The only thing is, that we lost this level, when the last card ist used, and we cannot reach the mission goal in this round."
