The Magic Shop

A sandwhich must.

added 11 years ago O

Lina smiled wide, her blue eyes shining for a moment. "Puppy's Peanut Butter. A sandwhich must." Her voice was overly sweet as she read the label. Which was wrapped around this rather plain looking jar of peanut butter. The label had a mascot on it as well, a cartoony dog wearing a collar and looking all to happy and excited. There was other, smaller text, probably ingredients of weight, so Amy leaned in for a better look.

"Lina, I think it's called 'Puppy Peanut Butter'," Amy said with a giggle. Lina pursed her lips and looked at the label again. She noticed the lack of an s. She looked back to Amy and shrugged. "Anyways, you aren't seriously going to get that, are you?" Lina smiled again, and nodded her freckled face. "Oh come on, it's some funny off brand stuff!"

"I know, that's why. I love trying out weird things like this." Lina said enthusiastically. Her hand brushed over the plastic sealing the lid, noticing something seemingly wrapped under it. She shrugged, and turned. "Did you find anything?"

"No, all this stuff is to weird and random..." Amy let her voice trail off as Lina walked away. Frowning, she quickly hurried after her friend. This was very typical Lina, drag Amy some where she couldn't care less about, just to get herself something, and not even have the courtesy to listen to her speak! Sometimes, Amy felt like she was being lead around on a leash. She couldn't stay too mad at her though, as she hurried after Lina, and caught a quick glance at her toned, athletic rear. The dark haired girl blushed a hint. She would only barely admit it, but she did have a little crush on Lina. She'd never tell her though, oh no, for that crushing fear of rejection. Even the mere thought of it made Amy bite her lip. There was also the high chance that her social life would be ruined if it got out she swung with girls, but she had enough to worry about already.

They were up at the register soon enough, the old man ringing up Lina's jar. "Oh, this is a very good choice." He said, in a whispery old voice, accent just outside of placeable. "You'll definitely enjoy this." He said as he bagged it, and handed it back. Lina was looking at the jar and bag the entire time, so failed to notice, that the entire time the old man appeared to be addressing Amy. She shivered a bit, hoping that maybe this old asian man had a lazy eye, or was blind, and not really looking her way with that gaze. Lina gave a hurried thanks and farewell, and soon enough the two were out the door and walking down the street.

It was a few minutes before Amy spoke up. "That old guy sure was creepy." She said, shooting a sideways glance Lina's way.

"He was, kinda. Old Italian guys get like that." Lina responded, hefting the bag to check her prize.

"Italian? He was totally Asian." Amy turned to look at Lina this time, stopping. Lina walked on for a few steps more, before halting and turning back.

"He might have been asian. I can't really tell..." She mused for a second, before smiling Amy's way again. "But who really cares? Come on let's get going, I want to make a PB&J sammich with this!" Lina exclaimed, turning to leave. Amy sighed and followed.
