You thought for a second then sighed. "I have a test today so I probably shouldn't skip class. I think I can make it through the day okay. But after school..."
"I look forward to it."
You gave Lydia a deep kiss before the two of you parted for your seperate classes.
-----
It seemed like the longest day of your life, but thankfully it was uneventful. Even being a bit distracted, you though you'd done okay on your test.
After school, you eagerly waited for Lydia by your car. Suddenly, there was a loud crack of thunder. You looked up to see dark clouds rolling in rapidly. Coincidence or some aspect of Lydia's accidental wish?
You didn't have long to think about it: Lydia arrived just as the first raindrops began to fall. You both got into your car in a hurry.
"Just when I thought this was going to be easy..." you mutter.
"At least your compulsion toward water isn't as strong as mine once I start transforming" said Lydia.
"I'm not so sure about that: I want to go for a swim pretty bad right now."
"Well, once we get to my house, we'll both get our wish."
You both laughed at Lydia's choice of words.
-----
The drive from school to Lydia's home wasn't difficult. You and Lydia held hands, the thought of you as a merman and Lydia as a mermaid occasionally running - or swimming - through your thoughts. Pulling into her driveway, the rain had still not let up.
"I wonder how long this rain is going to last?" you wondered aloud.
"If it's related to the wish it might not" said Lydia, echoing your thoughts.
"I don't have an umbrella so I guess we just have to run for it. Got your housekey ready?"
"Yes."
"Then lets go for it."
Lydia got out of the car and ran for the door; you followed a moment later to give her a head start on unlocking the door. You both left your backpacks in the back seat. The rain was absolutely pouring and Lydia fumbled with her keys. You both got soaked as the door finally opened and you both tumbled inside, shutting it behind you as fast as possible.
Laying on the floor, you could feel your transformation had resumed thanks to the rain. The only think stopping you from having a tail was the resistance of the pants you were wearing. Your body was screaming at you, desperate for you to remove those pants and complete your transformation into a merman.
As for Lydia...
