Jake is drawn inexorably toward a black dog collar with a shiny silver tag. He reaches for it and pauses.
"Hey, Jake, that would look perfect on you, go put it on now & model for me," orders a deep male voice from
behind Jake.
Jake grabs the collar and spins around, he was going to say, "This? Why don't you try it on first?", but
instead he is silent and stares. The male behind him has outstretched his hand and is tousling Jake's hair.
"That's a good boy, Jakey. Take off those old clothes, and put on your new collar, and we can go walkies," he
said. Then his hand guided Jake's shoulder to direct him toward the Changing Rooms. "Go, boy."
Jake's nose crinkled. The male scent wafted down from the wrist as his master pet his head. Master? Pet?
Scent? What the-? Yes, master's scent, master pet, Jake be good dog. The plain tag on the collar was no
longer plain. It bore the name JAKE on one side and on the other was imprinted his master's name, address and
phone. Jake trotted into the changing room, and practically ripped off his clothes. He fumbled with the collar
for a few moments. He stared at his reflection in the full length mirror, and grinned. Then the expression on
his face changed and he sat on his haunches with his tongue hanging out. He was a good boy. He bounded out of
the changing room and ran on all fours to his master. His nose buried in his master's crotch, and he sniffed.
His master's hands rubbed his head, back, belly and Jake felt good. He raised his head and licked his master
lovingly.
"Good boy, come!" the master said as his crooked finger slipped inside Jake's collar. He led Jake toward a
clerk in a red vest, "Got a leash to go with this collar? Jakey needs to go walkies."
"Yes, right here," the young man said handing your owner a leash.
"I'll take it," master says securing the leash to Jake's collar.
"Fine will there be anything else?" the clerk says keying into the register.
The master takes out his wallet to pay.
"No, I think this will be fine for now," he says paying.
"Oh, do you want me to pack up your dog's old clothes for you?"
