“Well,” Iris said, thinking about her decision, “I don’t have anything left here, and being a fairy does sound interesting. What are we waiting for, let’s do it.”
“Okay then,” Goldenrod said, “now stand still while I make the incatation.”
Iris did as she was told, and the fairy began chanting words that were hard to understand. As the incantation went on, Iris noticed herself glowing, and then she felt strange as the room suddenly began to get bigger. She suddenly realized that the room wasn’t getting bigger, she was getting smaller. As Iris shrunk, her clothes were getting baggy as she was too small for them.
Eventually, the shrinking stopped, and Iris stopped glowing too. After she struggled out of her now humungous clothes, she realized that she was about the same size as Goldenrod would be. She also realized that she was naked, and blushingly tried to cover herself.
As she tried to get her bearings, Iris felt more tingling throughout her body, and quickly noticed that her hair was changing color, turning to a luscious violet like that of an Iris flower. She then felt something growing out of two points on her forehead, and quickly put her hands in that area to realize that she had grown two bug like stalks, remembering that Goldenrod had stalks just like them. Then she doubled over in pain as a set of lumps grew on her back. As that happened, the pressure grew more and more until the skin broke. What burst forth was a set of wings that unfurled and quickly grew to full size. As Iris recovered, she couldn’t help but be amazed at the sight of her new appendages. The wings were that of a butterfly’s, and were a bright violet with green markings. As Iris looked at her wings, there was a glow in front of her, and then a flash. Afterwards, Iris looked to see that she was wearing new clothes that fit her perfectly. Her new outfit was made out of violet flower petals that formed a miniskirt, as short-sleeve blouse, and a set of undergarments. She was also wearing green vines in the form of feminine boots, fingerless gloves, and a tiara.
“Oh my god,” Iris said with delight, “I look amazing!”
“Iris!” Goldenrod called out from atop the table above Iris. “Are you okay, do you need me to come down?!”
“No Goldenrod,” Iris yelled back, “I’m coming up.” ‘Time to try out my new wings.”
As if on instinct, Iris’s new wings fluttered rapidly to the point where she was able to lift herself up in the air. With a smile, Iris flew up to the table top to meet with her new friend.
“Wow,” Goldenrod said with amazement, “You look really pretty. And you didn’t seem to have any trouble flying up here. You’re a natural at this.”
“Thanks,” Iris said, blushing a little, “So what do you want to do, now that I’m a fairy?”
