Ken saw stars. He was really flying, whatever was in the powder, it wasn't just sugar. The room seemed to shift to grow bigger. Ken's clothing suddenly weighed heavily against his body. His knees buckled under the increasing weight. He stared up at the grinning shopkeeper. Then, Ken coughed violently his pearly white teeth clattered on the floor. They just fell out of his mouth. His gums stiffened and became hard forcing outward. Ken stood up and his trousers and shorts dropped to the floor, his shirt hung loosely on his body like a dress. Ken pulled it off, and examined his tingling naked body. Goose bumps covered his body, his eyes came up to the level of the counter, and he was still shrinking. He said to the shopkeeper, "I'll change back right."
"Probably. Not sure, never mixed powders before, and of course, there are side effects inherent with using magic powders, but the spell should end in a couple hours. Looks like you picked mostly avian powder."
"Avian?"
"Birds, you're sprouting feathers!"
Ken just squaked, he was no only about a foot tall. The shopkeeper stepped away. Yellow pin feathers now covered Ken's tiny body. When the shopkeeper returned he was carrying an antique brass guilded bird cage.
Ken could only flap and chirp.
The shopkeeper reached out and grabbed the little yellow bird that had been Ken, and put him in the cage. He said as he latched the cage's door, "Clitus would pounce on you and eat you for sure, Tweety. You just hang here, it looks like I've got more customers." He hung the cage from an enameled brass and gilded stand that matched Ken's new home. Ken perched on the little wooden trapeze and contemplated his new situation.
