Linda wakes up first. She licks Chris awake. "Good morrring big boy. Sleep alrrrright?"
"Yeah," he replies "but I'm hungrrrry now."
"Me too." she says "Why don't we get some brrreakfast?"
"Good idea." he says, and they make their way to the kitchen, where they eat raw eggs and sausage.
"At this rrrate," Linda says, licking her lips from the eggs she just finished "we'll have to buy morrrre."
"But we can't go to the storrre like this, can we?" Chris asks.
"We'll have to go out soonerrr orrr laterrrr." Linda reasons "I'll go get my purrrrrse."
"What about clothes?" Chris asks.
"Nothing we have fits anymorrre," she reasons "and besides, do you want me to coverrr THIS up?" she asked, referring to her orange and black
tiger body "Now come, my wolf, and let's 'hunt' for groceries."
The two then stepped outside to see that everyone was like them.
A lion man could be seen carrying a briefcase, a fox woman was talking with someone over her cell phone about a business deal, three lynx
kids were happily playing jumprope, and there were many other wild canine and feline people walking around. None of them had any clothes,
but thanks to all that thick fur on their bodies, they didn't need any. The weirdest part was none of them were scared - they were going about
their everyday lives calmly as if they'd always been that way.
"I guess we won't have to worrrry about standing out as much as I thought." Chris said with a relieved smile.
Linda smiled back at him, and they walked to the grocery store.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They bought meats, eggs, milk, and cheese.
They paid the leopard woman working the counter, and left to go back home.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After they put everything away, they ate a bit, and licked eachother's faces for any lingering bits of food.
"It's so weirrrd." Chris says "I expected complete chaos in a town full of canine and feline people, but every one still acts civilized."
"Maybe the definition of 'civil' has been rrrredefined." Linda says, scratching behind Chris's left ear "I like it betterrr this way - everrrryone is
much morrre frrree and happy. This is how it was meant to be."
Chris stroked Linda's back, and she started purring.
"Ohhh, Chrrrris." she said as she purred "Will you marrry me?"
"Of courrrrse, my tigerrr." he replied "I was about to ask you the same thing."
So they started making plans for their wedding. They knew it was going to be great.
