You see something furry and narrow hanging over your butt! It's white and brown, like a beagle's tail. You reach back and gently pinch the tip with your finger. It's so weird! You can feel the short fur covering your finger, but you can also feel the pinching sensation traveling up your spine--which is now multiple inches longer. The new sensation makes a new muscle--and your tail--twitch a little to the side. Then you try out the muscle voluntarily, feeling your canine appendage swaying strongly behind you.
Your sense of reality returns, and you get nervous. "Why do I have a tail?" you think. "I'm not a dog! How will I hide this thing?" Your nervousness gives way to outright fear. "Maybe I'm hallucinating or worse!" You're surprised to feel a sudden jerk in your new body part, and your new tail dives underneath your crotch--just like a frightened dog. As it sticks out in front of you, pressing against the groin of your pants, you explore every part of it with your hands. Bones, skin, fur--you can even feel your fast pulse from your racing heartbeat.
Suddenly you see a young girl and some adults watching you fondle your tail. You run away in embarrassment and find a men's restroom. Inside a stall, you are relieved to be in private. Pulling down your damaged pants you take inventory of the changes. You've also got black and copper-colored fur on your butt and lower back. Without people staring at you, you actually feel kind of nice. It *is* kind of an adventure to have a difference in your body. Your fur is soft and comfortable as you move a hand over it. You've petted dog's fur before, but you've never felt it from the inside. "Is this what real beagles feel?" you wonder.
You start to smile. Your tail starts to sway, reminding you that you now have a new way to express your emotions. Even the act of wagging your tail makes you feel better. But mild anxiety returns as you wonder where to go from here.
