Aaron had a cool name, but not much else was cool about him. He was nerdy, short, pale, skinny, he was into science, space to be
specific and was very body shy. He was 10 years old. His parents were proud of his work, but he only had two friends and seemed
depressed a lot. Aaron's dad Chris had been very into skating and gave his son a skater type name, figuring he would be into it too. As
he got older he didn't have any interest. But when they found out about the project they signed him right up.
Aaron was told it was just a program to help him, and in a way it was true. Once he was in the facility he was taken to a room with one
chair, a projector, and a screen. The workers played a video. The video was showing all kinds of space and science stuff. He was told
this is what he was interested in, which was true. But as the video progressed it started to transition to skating clips and pictures. Soon
the skating interruptions became more frequent, they kept saying "This video is your interests" over and over, drilling it into his mind.
After a while there was barely any science left only skating. There were clips of famous skaters like Tony Hawk, and then others from
random kids at a skate park. Mostly drinking monster or red bull energy drinks. And several of them shirtless.
Still they said these were his interests and he kept on agreeing with them, even though he knew it wasn't right. After the video they
brought him to his room. It was painted gray, like most of the building. The bed had a skateboard comforter and the walls were covered
with skateboarding posters of Tony Hawk and other famous skaters. There was even a skateboard on the floor. He had all his clothes
in the dresser. There was also a tv.
"This can't be my room" Aaron said. But they told him it was. They closed the door, the room even had it's own bathroom and fridge. He
wasn't supposed to leave it. The fridge was full of red bull and monster, and tons of snacks frozen and in a cabinet. He didn't like that
unhealthy energy drink stuff but had no choice. He drank them anyway, starting to like them.
He turned on the tv but every channel was either a workout video or a skating video. The whole room carefully designed to reenforce
what he was being told about himself. He had a phone so he could call his parents or order food from a cafeteria in the place. He
burped and decided he could enjoy this place.
