"If we're going to make everyone into a woman, we need to think about other consequences," I explained. "Like
how would humans survive with no males?"
"Simple," said Rachel. "Let the ring do it."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Just wish for there to be a solution to that problem," she explained. "You don't have to come up with it,
just make a wish so that there's no problem."
I grasped what she meant. "So just let the ring work it out?" I asked.
She nodded. "Exactly. You wished for world peace, and it happened. It's just that it took a little time and
the ring made it look like other people caused it," she said.
"OK, that can work," I said.
"Was that your only issue?" she asked.
"No," I said. "If everyone will be a woman, then what's the point of clothing?"
Her eyes widened. "You want everyone to go naked?" she asked. She looked enticed by the proposition.
"Yea, why not?" I asked.
"Yea," she said. Then her expression changed. "A few things might be a problem," she said. "Like weather.
And everyone being naked, even if everyone is a woman, might not be as good as it sounds."
"Ooh, sounds like someone is too proud of her looks," I teased.
"Hey!" she said. "That's not fair. You should know from my experiences that it isn't easy to model."
"Yea, but that doesn't mean there aren't attractive non-models or celebrities," I said. Before she could
retort I said, "But I do see your point. So how about this. We'll try to evolve humanity a bit. We'll make
it so that humans will be immune to weather conditions. Like it won't matter how hot or cold it is, the
normal effects of that wouldn't be felt. So people could go outside naked no matter what the weather is and
be comfortable."
She nodded. "Sounds ambitious," she said.
"And," I continued, "on top of that, we'll make it so that people won't need shoes. Every person's feet
couldn't be hurt by walking around barefoot. So if you step on something, you'd feel it, but not get hurt by
it, no matter what it is."
Rachel said, "Good, like it. What else?"
"I think I see your point about people looking different," I said. "I don't want people to look the same,
but...I think everyone should look the same age."
"How so?" she asked as she raised her eyebrow.
"I think that we should make it that people stop aging, at least physically, once they reach a certain point,"
I explained. "Like once a person reaches whatever is their prime physical condition, they'll no longer age
physically even though they'll still get older numerically. So that way everyone should always look in their
20's or 30's tops."
"But how would you know...or how would the ring know every person's prime condition?" she asked. "How would
it know someone looks better at 28 than 23, or whatever?"
I shrugged. "We'll just have to let the ring figure it out," I answered.
"OK," she said. "So we're going to make everyone a woman. We're going to make everyone go naked and make
everyone's body be immune to weather and stuff. And we're going to stop people from physically aging. Does
that cover it?"
"One other thing," I said. "Everyone who's currently older than their prime physical condition will have to
regress back to that age, physically. That's only fair."
She nodded. "So my 85-year old grandmother is going to look like she's 25 or so, but she'll still be 85. How
am I going to know what she looks like?" she asked.
"Good point," I said. "So we'll make it so that even after a person is changed, everyone will still be
recognizable to each other. Even with different bodies, everyone will still be able to identify their family,
friends and everything."
"This is going to take a lot of wishes," she said.
"I know," I agreed. "But it will be fun."
Rachel said, "How about this? For more fun, make it so that the changes take time, like they don't all happen
right away."
"A gradual change?" I said. "I like that."
"And this," she added. "Make it so everyone knows what's happening, but that everyone is cool with it. Even
with world peace, everyone should embrace the changes we make."
"OK," I said. "But I'll make it so that no one really knows why the changes happen. I don't want anyone
knowing we did this. That could be awkward."
She nodded in agreement. "Good idea," she said. "I don't want people to be mad at me. Or thank me, either.
Just be one of the masses."
"This is definitely going to take several wishes," I said.
"Wait, before you start, Joe," Rachel interrupted. "There's something I need to tell you."
