The door creaked as it slowly swung open, the single snooping eye of Carter's little stepbrother Curtis could be seen in the narrow opening.
"Whoa!" Curtis said in glee and surprise as he flung the door wide open, "What do we have here?"
"Oh, no it's Curtis the Creep," whispered Carter to Ryan.
"No, no, mustn't have secrets from Big Curtis, little bro!" he flicked Carter in the head with his index finger sending the senior sprawling across the bed in pain.
"Hey, Curtis, Man I'm glad to see you!" Ryan shouted with a big smile.
"BMOC, now brown-noser, huh? Well, from the look of you two horn dogs you'd probably enjoy being shoved up my butt. 'Cept, I wouldn't enjoy it," Curtis rambled on enjoying his new dominant role, he grabbed both young men firmly around the waist.
"Ya, know your father said I could have my own room when you leave for college. I really don't want to wait to the fall, Ricky snores like a buzz saw. And from the look of things, you don't really need this big room anymore, do ya?"
"No, Curtis, I'd be happy to have you move in with me. I can live in a shoebox if you like," yammered Carter, he and Curtis had never hit it off. Different parents and all, Curtis resented Carter and his family for taking Curtis' mother away from his real father. He was really afraid of the nasty little punk, who a school shrink had diagnosed as a borderline sociopath.
"Yep, big jock step brothers always shoving their muscles in little old wimpy Curtis' face. Always telling me I should work out more, and drink protein shakes---hey now there's an idea!" From the look on Curtis' face it was an evil, awful idea in the Grinchiest tradition.
He carried his two trophies down to the kitchen, switching them both to one hand, he lowered them into the blender, his other hand held the lid to prevent escape. He added non-fat milk, chocolate flavored supplement powder, and emptied a gooey whole egg over the two seniors.
They were sobbing and pleading for their lives. Cold metal blades rubbed against their ankles. The milk came up to their waists, the powder and egg clung to them. All the while Curtis' fiendish grin seemed to grow wider.
"Son, what are you doing in there?" a male voice boomed from the living room.
The lid held firmly in place, Curtis replied, "Making a protein shake, so I can be big and strong like your other sons, pa!" He hit the puree button.
"Okay. Be sure to clean up the kitchen when you're done."
"Yessir!"
Ryan and Carter's screams were drowned out by the blender's whirring engine. Their ankles were swept out from under them, and the milk ran brown and red as the chocolate powder and humans blended together. In a couple minutes, the thick pinkish brown shake was ready to drink.
Ryan and Carter merged as the blender spun their bodies into atoms. The magic that Vinnie had done to them kept them alive and conscious throughout the ordeal. Down they stared as they headed toward Curtis' gaping mouth. He was going to drink them straight out of the blender.
