You think about it for a moment. You turn to the old man. "I'm interested, but I want to keep my hands."

The old man thought. Then he mumbled something. You felt the changes happening.

First, your clothes disappeared. Then you gained gills on your neck. Then your legs grew huge blue scales and instantly turned into a tail.

you were now a merman!!!!
