My name is Melissa, and I just woke up from a strange dream. No, it wasn’t a dream; it was a memory of the previous day; the day I met an actual mermaid, became friends with her… and kissed her.
I had finally gotten a chance to spend the day at the beach. Even though I was all by myself, I made the best of it. A round of sunbathing followed by a swim; and that’s when I met her, Serenity. She just popped her head right out in front of me.
Her face was alluring with violet eyes framed in cyan eye shadow, which matched the color of her glossy lips. Her cerulean colored hair, even as wet as it was, flowed gracefully around her head. I saw the color of her fingernails matched her hair as she ran her fingers through it.
Serenity introduced herself to me, as did I to her, and we started talking as we swam together. When I brought up the odd swimming apparatus she seemed to be wearing, she took me to a secluded cove where, after I swore not to tell anyone, she climbed onto a rock, revealing her secret to me.
Her breasts; straddling the line between B and C cup like mine, however much more firm and perky; bore a pair of seashells; held up by what, I could not see. She wore a pearl necklace and a bracelet of shells, but that all left my mind when I gazed below her waist. A beautiful long cyan fishtail with a metallic sheen ending in a broad caudal fin met my eyes. Seeing it now, twisting and curling in ways no human legs could ever hope to mimic, there was no doubt it was real.
She suggested I grab some scuba gear and join her underwater. There was no way I was going to pass this opportunity up. Her movements underwater were the epitome of grace; almost seductive in a way, and her wavy blue hair billowed around her like a gossamer cloud. She seemed amused at me when I tried to mimic the undulations of her tail with my legs, comparing it to a rigid dolphin. She showed me around the coral reefs and afterward I treated her to a soda back at the cove. It was sunset by then. After we finished our drinks and after a few moments of silence, Serenity spoke up.
“Melissa, may I ask a favor of you?”
“Sure, what do you want?”
“May I kiss you?”
I was taken aback. “W-what; kiss me?”
“We’re friends now, aren’t we?”
“Well, yeah; but we’re both girls, and we’re just friends.”
“Mermaids are only girls, and it’s how we express our friendship. It’ll only be a short one; but it will be on the lips.” Serenity added. “I knew as a human, you may be a little shy about it, which is why I asked first.”
“Well, alright. To our friendship.” I said, and we slowly moved in close together and her lips met mine. It felt strange at first, but by the end, it felt oddly right.
“I’m glad to have made friends with someone as kind and beautiful as you, Melissa.”
I blushed. “You think I’m beautiful?”
“Worthy of a mermaid, Melissa; and that’s saying something.”
“Thanks Serenity, You’re beautiful, too.”
We must have stared at each other for a full minute before Serenity spoke up. “It’s getting late, I should be going.”
“Yeah, me too.” I answered. As Serenity dove into the water, I shouted, “Wait! How will we find each other again? It’s a big ocean and I have no way to contact you.”
“We will Melissa, trust me!” she shouted back before diving into the sea. The last I saw of her was her tail poking out of the ocean, waving back at me.
That night, I went to bed thinking about her. So much so that our meeting was replayed in my dream.
